Coming Soon

Blogging is one of the many things in life I thought I would never do. (Right up there with dance instructor, vegetarian restaurant critic, and teacher) It's just a little too pretentious for this downhome country boy from Texas. We prefer to keep our words short, our friends close, and our guns closer. But I figure if there's anytime to start a blog, a romp through Southern Africa for Summer 2008 seems like as good a time as any.

But I'm not in Africa yet, so I don't really have anything original to post. Thanks for checking in, though, and I promise to get this thing started, Black Eyed Peas style, once I've landed on the continent on June 1. So check back often and hopefully I'll regale you with tall tales and yarns from the dark continent. As with most things in my life, the stories will be mostly true, and those that aren't should make for a good illustration or at least a good laugh.
